What do u guys think of a trade based on max domi for caps goalie prospect ilya samsonov this gives the caps a young forward with top 6 six maybe 1st line potential who had a 50 pt rookie season 3 yrs ago since its 2018 in this AGM but has struggled a bit recently bcus this team is garbage and sammy gives the yotes a great goalie prospect who is recognized by people as the best goalie prospect outside the nhl but him being unproven and the caps being set in goal for about 5 years will help the caps give him up just a little bit domi gives the caps a great top 9 of ovi backstrom oshie kuzy wilson burakovsky connolly domi and vrana and we take orpik and picks to help reach the cap floor we can replace domi's short term production with an over paid winger like jvr or nash for about 3-4 yrs to help hit the cap floor even more we have too many forwards and not enough spots anyway this is just the base of the trade u guys can get into the specifics LMK what u think and give me ideas

Orpik has 1 year left. way too much for a guy you can bury, trade an retain salary, buyout or ride out the season in your 3rd paring.

feel like caps are probably more willing to give up Grubauer than Samsonov as he really is ready for a starting role where-as Samsonov is young and inexperienced he needs another year

If Samsonov is coming, maybe more a Gruber and Orpik with some tweaks could be deal. Coyotes keep Domi. 5m for Nash seems wasteful.

Coyotes might be willing to take on Orpik, but not at the cost of subtracting Domi.
Goaltending was a need early on, but with Raanta healthy and Wedgewood showing well, it looks resolved for now.
The Coyotes really need scoring. But 34-year-old Rick Nash for $5M per for 2 years doesn't seem like the right cost or best fit. He's on pace for 20-20-40 this season. And I can't see Arizona being his top choice in FA.
I also don't imagine they'd play Boqvist right away with all of the other D prospects available in the system.
