do you think it s 100% necessary for them to get tavares itll cost you 10.5-12 million ......Nylander is eventually going to play center right ? and he has the talent to maybe be a great #2 center...just dont know if you wanna spend that money on one guy when you could get a few (2-3) bottom 6 guys to balance your team....rather see tor go for oel when hes a ufa

If the Salary cap increases to $80 million, There is no way John Tavares is going to take $10 million per year. Try more like $11 million to $11.5 million easily there's going to be a major bidding war for his services. No way is $10 million going to win out. Both Marner and Nylander will get $7 million each Matthews $12 million no way can the Leafs afford Tavares as well.

I don't see how the math works either. With bonus money Leafs have spend to the cap in 2018/19. OK with cap at 82m in 2019/20 if Matthews gets a big raise, maybe Marner, plus increases for other RFAs, and maybe UFA Gardiner, in really doesn't work. IMO even those RFAs who have signed, should get more money.

Im not sure its unrealistic to get nylander and marner for 6 mil each. They have alot to prove yet.
