Description

Bruins use a defender to upgrade the 3rd C spot. It makes sense because someone good is going to be sitting out if the team remains healthy. They get back a competent #6 LHD who could blossom on the team and right now be the #7, but it's more about the 3rd C upgrade. They also receive a pick based on the gap in potential of the players on each side.

Dallas could use a good defender. Methot is an UFA after this year and there are some holes on their defensive core. JFK's potential compares well to Faksa and the difference in point per game totals is slim. Faksa = .35 JFK = .32 The difference is how much more comfortable Faksa is out on the ice and how he could help the younger players on his line play closer to their potential.

I think this deal could potentially help both parties.

Oleksiak would be a good depth defender even though he's likely the 7th dman. Being on the same dcore with the similar sized Chara could probably help him develop more.
