That defence really isn't that bad, sure Liljegren will be a 20 year old rookie but he does have immense talent that I think will help him skate through some growing pains. Borgman was definitely serviceable until Dermott took his spot.

This year the Leafs are going with a NHL rookie Ozzie and a 2nd year man Dermot....and the Leafs are doing well. Next year summer Leafs management will have to decide whether the Gardiner and Hainsey can be replaced by Rosen, Borgman, Sandin, Liljegren or Holl. My thoughts are they will trade in the summer for a Dman improvement. But maybe Leaf management thinks the inexpensive and inexperience Dmen will hold up in the 2019/20.
I think it's a legitimate discussion. What I don't think is legitimate is when folks say the Leafs have bad dmen, unworthy of being NHLers.

Believe it or not when I said that I meant with forwards. Lol I wasn't even thinking of D. I do agree with you both in that I don't think the D is that bad. I think it'll be serviceable next year and even better the next. I'm ready for it.
