Description
The big thing here is that this may allow the Lightning to go after Artemi Panarin in Free Agency. That would really probably be the only reason for a team to give up a promising player like Taylor Raddysh. This also frees up cap space at the 2019 TDL for Tampa to go after a player like Duchene in hopes of winning the cup.

For the Blackhawks, this allows them to take advantage of having cap space for once instead of losing players due to having none. They are not a cup contender in 2018-19 and its hard to see them being one in 2019-2020 too.
Even here they have cap space ($3M+) to sign a decent 3rd line UFA. I also believe they should look to move Murphy and they could maybe look to move Anisimov.

The Blackhawks seem to have drafted their next wave of D in the last 2 years in Boqvist, Jokiharju, Mitchell, Beaudin, and Krys (maybe not). Defenseman generally take a bit longer to develop than forwards so I think you can expect them to be forward heavy in the 2019 draft. This would put them on a trajectory to have the next wave in 2020-2021.

I like it but I would prefer a big gritty young 3RW because kane debrincat and raddysh just sounds too small for me

I don't diagree. Raddysh is a good prospect though and I don't think the lightning have one of those players to trade. The Blackhawks will definitely need to find another top-6/top-9 power forward in the near future.

Hmmm.... Us Hawks fans also have a unique perspective on Raddysh. He played with Debrincat in Eire. It was between him and Debrincat as to who was the best player on the team. Debrincat pulled away at the end of the season and Raddysh stayed in Eire...to which his point total dropped when he needed to play the opposing shut down line and his points dropped by 25ish points. I see Raddysh as a career #3RW as you have here. I like that he'll be cost controlled for (3) years. I like the 2nd round pick. I guess I'd be fine with this trade. It's on the smaller end of things (As far as lofty goals for Stan), but TBL would JUMP at this trade so the team would 110% do it. However, I doubt Callahan accepts this, but that's a different point all together.

***EDIT*** that 2nd line scares me. I don't think it'll be as good as every else thinks. Saad doesn't play the type of game Schmaltz and Kane do. Just my opinion.

***EDIT EDIT*** Oh Jeeze I just saw the 2nd rounder going to TBL...NOPE...TBL should be sending the 2nd to take on the $5.8M Cap Dump. You don't send a 2nd round pick to take on a career #3RW.

Not sure I agree on Raddysh's upside. He played on a bad Otters team last year. In the playoffs after being traded he put up nearly the same PPG as he did the year before on a stacked Otters team. He was still top 10 in the league as far as PPG in the playoffs. This year will be a big year to see how he does in the AHL but I think its premature to write him off as a career 3rd liner.

I was debating on adding the 2nd or not. I think the deal could be done without the pick but I also don't think TBL NEED to make this trade. They are in a great spot cap wise even with Callahan.

@Hockeyplayer1 I 100% agree that TBL doesn't NEED to make a trade. They're a great team as it stand. I'm just thinking that IF they can dump Callahan...they'd pay up to do it because A) TOR made a GIANT addition and B.) Like you mentioned...they could add a short term seriously good player in lieu of Callahan.
