Description
Getting UFAs to come here is a tough sell, so why not go after RFAs? There are so few trades these days, and even fewer trades that "matter", why not explore this route?

EDM is strapped as they only have 10M of cap space and need to get 3 more players under contract. If we throw this kind of term and money at Nurse, I'm not sure EDM has the resources to match.

In this scenario, it would cost us (according to CapFriendly calculator) two 1st round picks, a second, and a third.

I would gladly give that up for 7 years of a first pairing d-mam like Nurse.

In any event, the likely trade of Pacioretty will get us atleast one of those picks back from another team, maybe even two.

    This would certainly follow Bergevin's past terrible decision making abilities. Nurse hasn't proven himself to be a top pair option on a team that doesn't have a top pairing defencemen. I imagine Bergevin would then try to make this stay at home defenceman a centre.

    Nurse is not worth this at all. He has nice potential as a top 4 guy but not at that price

    I agree with the group above, Nurse is no where near a top pair at that price ... spend the money elsewhere and save the picks!
