Wild pass. Sam Bennett needs to prove he can score in the NHL which he hasn't done yet after 3 seasons in the NHL. We already have Dubnyk so trading for Smith (the most valuable piece in this trade) doesn't make any sense. Kylington is a decent prospect but we already have 3 promising LHD prospects, we are pretty full at that position.

You're trading for a top 6 scoring RW/LW and a top pairing RD, you're going to have to give up a lot more to get those pieces

True about needing more. I have been seeing rumors of the Wild wanting to trade these players so I took a chance to see how people would react. Bennett could do better on a team that could give him more time on the top 2 lines. I would likely take Smith off the offer and reply with a 1st if that would seal the deal. Bennett, Kylington and a 1st for Spurgeon and Nieter.

Kylington hold no value for Minny, it's the deepest position in both the NHL and AHL. Bennett (who I like) doesn't get either of Spurgeon/Nino, a 1st doesn't get either of them either.

Bennett+Lindholm+ (I dunno) might get the conversation started. Without Fox (who the Wild could have used), CGYs prospect pool doesn't interest me much.
