Great deal for New Jersey. So, as any serious hockey fan did in this situation, I googled Igor Rykov, found a page on "elite prospects" under Yegor Rykov. he's a 20 year old defenseman who was a 5th round pick and plays in Russia.

So, everybody who was arguing over which prospect you'd have to trade to the Rangers with a 2nd a what else to get Grabner.... you were right. You had enough there. Well done.

And everybody in the NHL who tried to lowball the Rangers below a 2nd and a former 5th round pick who plays defense on another continent... what were you thinking? This guy is putting together back to bak 25 goal seasons, and costs basically nothing in trade, and basically nothing against the salary cap. Like, any team that didn't offer a 2nd and a former 4th round pick to beat this offer.... I don't understand why not. Was Grabner the right fit for your team? Let me help you with this one: yes.
