That's not enough for Tavares. Even with two good prospects and a pick.

Why not just try for JT in the offseason without giving up assets. I have a hard time seeing JT leaving the Isles.

Value-wise I agree of course, it's no where near enough. But I really could see Snow deciding to OK this trade if and only if:

1) Snow decides it likely that JT will leave in the offseason,
2) this is firmly what SJ offers,
3) and it's the best offer outside the division (or conference).
