Description
Just kidding. I think a move like this is all the Bruins need. The scoring is there right now, so I don't see a need to spend on a top-6 winger. I like leaving Marchy-Bergy-Pasta together, so I would swing Bjork into the 2nd RW spot (once he's healthy).

Send Spooner and Vatrano + a 2nd for Johnson. Johnson can play top-4 minutes next to Carlo, and hopefully play well as he's trying for one last big contract.

Krug slides down to 3rd pair, which unfortunately pushes Gryz to the 7th D (which was actually the hardest part of this)

Let me know what you think, but as of now I think this team needs minimal tinkering.

Anders Bjork hasn't been the same since that injury and after he returns from IR, he would benefit from going back to the AHL and playing down there. Jack Johnson is not an upgrade over Krug, and I wouldn't even consider him an upgrade on Grzelcyk at this point. Meanwhile, Spooner is having himself a solid year and I'd rather hold onto him at this point. He's an RFA in the off-season so he's still under control. You can reassess him then and deal him and/or sign him. I don't care for Johnson and I feel Spooner + 2nd is too rich of an offer for him.

We learned last year that NHL defensive depth is needed in the playoffs so i hold off on dealing McQuaid for a late round pick. He's a movable piece in the offseason if needed, but you can't have enough depth. RHD is weak to begin with for Boston, and who is the next man up, should any one of McAvoy/Carlo/Miller go down; Postma? Woof.

Those are good points. The hope with the trade is that Johnson would play his ass off to get one last big contract, and maybe the B's could benefit from that. As for Postma, I'd feel more comfortable with O'Gara coming up (in the situation here that I've traded Quaider) and filling in for a few games.

Trading McQuaid before the playoffs would be a mistake. Between Miller, Postma, McQuaid, Carlo only one of them have a Stanley Cup and guess who it is? That's right, Quaider... He brings leadership to the defensive corps that they need. Actually only Chara and McQuaid are left of the defense that was part of the 2011 defensive corps. Those 2 guys go nowhere in my opinion. Especially not for a pick??? a late round pick??? Also J.J. cares nothing about winning the Cup only about a new contract. Could this be beneficial? Yes, It could also be a cancer in the locker room... I don't want his attitude anywhere near the positive synergy we have going right now.

Also if Spooner goes Nash steps up and takes Spooner's place. Czarnik steps in and takes Nash's place; I believe that would be the march order... I don't like either one of these trades. I don't mind giving up a 2nd but not for Jack Johnson.

Am i missing something on Johnson? I've never heard anything about him being a 'cancer' and such, or having a bad attitude. I don't want him, but for hockey reasons.

This is the 2nd time you've pitched this and its not the case. Czarnik is only here until Acciari is healthy (may not even make it till then). Czarnik can only play one more game before he's not longer waiver exempt and the last thing Sweeney wants is to have another guy that would need to pass waivers to go back to the AHL. Czarnik has played well, but certainly not well enough to unseat a guy like Acciari, Schaller or Kuraly and if that's the case you'd be crazy to burn his waiver exemption for a few extra games.

If Spooner is out, its because Boston is acquiring or acquired a top 6 RW.
