Trading Sedin brothers so they get a cup

Fyi, teams can only retain on max 3 contracts. Van already retaining on 2.

Huge overpayment. Sedins are together worth a 1st round pick, tops. Their contracts are very high burden, and they aren't nearly as good as they were 3-4 years ago.

Also, you're only allowed to retain 3 contracts. If both of them were to be retained, VAN would have 4.

Vanek can get you a 2nd for sure, maybe even a 1st

I wouldn’t give you those 2 players for the Sedins at this point much less throw in the picks.

Vegas is the best bet for a destination, but you'd have to take actual salary back and focus on what you could get of value from their spare parts. They aren't in a position to pay a pick/prospect price. Highest pick you could get would be a 2nd and you might be able to get some picks in later rounds.
Price would be relatively low, but better than nothing.

Stoner, Grabovski, Garrison are salary options.
Retain 50% on one of the Sedins.
Might be able to get someone like Eakin.
Lindberg or Bellemare.
2nd in 2019.
A 4th or a 5th.

And that's probably the max. It might even be too much.
