First of all, the Habs are tanking to at this point. There's no reason to trade for Strome. Second, it's not even close to fair value for Galchenyuk.

Galchenyuk only has five more points than Strome. Considering the cap difference today and when Strome resigns you save around 1.75 mil. Also he is a rh winger which Montreal has none.

Montreal doesn't have a cap issue keeping a higher better value player like Galchy... and Yes MTL has plenty RW: Gallager, Shaw, Byron, Scherback and Galchy can play both side as a off wing shooter +++
Strome can be a good risk for Mtl but not at that cost... otherwise I would ask for RNH for Galchy + 2nd round pick.

Galch has far more upside than Strome, not a chance that trade happens. This coming from someone who hates Montreal. Also, why would Colorado, a team with a glut of offensive prospects and not looking to get older trade their young offensive D-man for an old defender and a lottery ticket in Slepyshev?
