Description
St Louis can always use a scorer and Parenteau is a low salary option. They're starting to get frustrated with Rattie so it may be time to move on. Trade deadline costs are always high and Rattie and a 2nd is a reasonable return.
Panthers would probably like the speed of Grabner to go with their size. A 2nd if the Leafs retain half his salary.
A little package of picks and a young bottom pairing defenceman for Polak to a team that could use a little help on the back end.
Bring back Zack Sill for an end of season tryout and a 2nd for a good 3rd/4th liner in Spaling.
A little package of picks and a youngish player for Leafs taking Backstrom and sending Reimer for a good backup option if Dubnyk goes down.

    These trades make sense, except I think youre over-valuing Toronto's assets, I think for Parenteau youre lucky to get a second, but St.Louis seems like a good destination. And then drop some of the picks in the other trades.

    I have watched Rattie play a lot, don't think he fits into the Blues long term plans. Could be a good pickup for the Leafs

    These type of deals are possible. Don't think Spaling is worth a second especially since he hasn't played much this year to show how good he can be. You're right about Reimer,from a Leaf point of view they hope a contender's starter or back up gets hurt so Reimer can get a good price. Don't think 25 year old Schroeder is going to be an NHLer, but if the Leafs take back money as you suggest, under the right circumstances, might in get a better pick or prospect back. Dallas could be a great destination for Polak.
    Dallas has 3 very good young Dmen in the AHL, plus Oleksiak and a Finn in the NHL. Any one of those guys might be NHL ready next year. That's who the Leafs might want, instead of faraway (time) pick.
