Well to be quite honest I think Rakell stays and that takes care of the 2nd or 3rd line. I think Yager gets a year in the AHL so I'd put Puusty up there. I'd be very suprised if he doesnt get a roster spot for the whole year. Poulin in my opinion hasnt been too great in the NHL. I like Ponomaryov up there. Someone like Debrusk cause of age I think would be better than Duchene. I also wouldnt mind Tarasenko necessarily either.
Maybe something like (if Jake comes back)
Guentzel - Crosby - Rust
Bunting - Geno - Rakell or FA
O'Connor - Eller - Rakell or FA
Ponomaryov - Acciari - Puustinen
Itll be hard to make other signings if we sign Jake.
For the defense I think St. Ivany gets a shot to start the season. I'd rather spend that 4 mil on a LD cause I dont think Pickering is ready yet either.
I would agree with you, obviously I tried to make a better team than a realistic one. tanev and duchene are old and not sure management would ever give that amount of money to more old players considering the average age of the team and definitely not giving them multi-years contract.
i do believe the team I assembled here is much better than what you proposed... cuz your is much more realistic.
if I have to be realistic, unfortunately I think this will be a very low event offseason. if I had to bet 1 euro on what the team would look like imo it would look:
Guentzel or FA - Crosby - Rust
Bunting - Geno - Rakell
O'Connor - Eller - Puustinen
poulin - Ponomaryov - Acciari
Pettersson - EK
graves - tanger
poj - st Ivany
jarry

not sure yager pickering or koivunen will be ready.
not even sure they trust Blomqvist yet they might sign a backup in case.
