We have too much young talent we have to pay after next season

If all he cost was picks, then maybe we’d trade for him as a rental ?
But i think he’d probably cost too much for that

The team in the end isn't bad, but it's definitely not better. The issue with Pasta is he needs another playmaker with him to be his best self (evidence: set a new PR in assists this year because it forced him to make plays instead of potting 60+ goals) and Marner on the other line doesn't help that.

Also: DeBrusk walks, someone will pay him more for longer. Swayman at 8.8 is insane, and spending almost 12 mil on goalies is worse. I love Swayman, but then only Vasi and Bob make more... the former is a proven champion, the latter is overpaid.

It would be hilarious if Boston acquired Marner and then he lit the Leafs up in round 1 next year
