Nashville doesnt have room on their NHL defense for Baron. Just not a good location for him. We already have NHL ready candidates in Milwaukee like Stastney and Del Gaizo. Trotz had to convince Brunette that Molendyk needed to go back to the WHL out of camp as well at the start of the season.

Habs could offer simply draft picks to NSH as well if Barron isn't a fit for them. I'm just trying to identify who could be a candidate (that's realistically available) that Kent Hughes could acquire similar to the Dach / Newhook trades. I'm getting tired of hearing the same names lol Kakko, Kent Johnson, Zegras....yawn...

EDIT: Also...isn't there a strong chance NSH might lose 2 NHL RDs this offseason with Barrie and Carrier? Not hard to imagine them going out and acquiring Barron to replace one of them.

Brunette likes to run with McDonagh/Josi as a pair. Josi does well on his offhand side. Barrie has been a non factor this year for the most part. Losing Carrier makes room for Stastney to move up who although another LHD plays on his offhand in Milwaukee as well or just clears roster space for Fabbro to become a more permanent fixture in the lineup. There's alot of looks the defense could have but i dont think we will go after another young player unless we were swapping out Fabbro for one. Maybe a Fabbro for Barron swap?

As for Tomasino, im not opposed to trading him tbh. Just not sure what id want in return. I think he has a good future just think he doesnt really fit what Brunette wants out of his wingers. So in terms of system fit, im just not sure if we are going to utilize him and i dont think he ever clears waivers. He is 0.5 ppg at the NHL level. No way some team doesnt take a gamble on that.

Very interesting. Considering Fabbro just signed an extension, I doubt he'd be available. But yes, I'd be interested in acquiring both Fabbro and Tomasino if I were MTL.

Fabbro would fit that "semi" veteran (he's turning 26 before next season) stay-at-home presence to replace Savard moving forward for MTL. Fabbro + Tomasino for Barron + draft pick (WINs 1st or COLs 2nd?) + your pick of one of Ylonen, Kidney, Farrell to replace Tomasino's roster spot?

Id probably do WINs 1st personally

WRT Fabbro. I dont know what it is with Brunette and Fabbro. They just dont seem to see eye to eye. Fabbro seems to have decent stats and looks decent on the ice but only gets roughly as much ice time as Luke Schenn.... idk what the heck is goin on there. Either way, it is only 1 year that takes him to UFA and with how things have gone up to this point i dont see him signing after that with Nashville unless there is a big change of events. Brunette just does odd things sometimes with our players that are hard to explain.
Blazingbat11 a aimé ceci.
