So the year after this trade the retentions will be even, then technically the Rangers won’t be losing that 1,625,000 for 3 years, just 2.

        Not just that. They have 20 lw prospects and Gabe. He could also be that playmaker for Zibanejad and Kreider in a year or two. And yes, you trade him and he makes us look stupid. Like we always lose those trades.
