Description

Friedman claims Vegas, Vancouver, Edmonton, Carolina and Florida have expressed interest on Guentzel.

I don't think the penguins are going to trade Jake personally, but I do think that Dubas will dangle the option out there and see if a GM goes over the top and submits an offer that's too hard to pass up (specially if there are multiple teams in the sweepstakes).

So with that thought process, I'm giving some of my thoughts for each team.

The panthers being interested in Jake is a bit interesting to me. However, they have a player in Lundell that fits exactly what I think Dubas wants in an ideal Jake return, but no firsts until 2026, and no cap space. Forsling is something i'd want added if there are no picks, plus i think it gives them enough cap space.

Out of all of those teams Only Carolina has the assets and the ability to sign JG to a long term deal. Neither Vegas or Edmonton have the cap space to sign him long term And Florida is better off re-signing Sam Reinhart than JG. And oh FYI Friedman also said that Detriot is the best landing spot for JG has we've the best assets and the ability to re-sign him and it makes more sense because we're a young up and coming team.

As I said, read the description on the post.

I do not believe that the penguins will trade Jake, but if you get multiple teams trying to acquire him it will undoubtedly drive up the price, specially given he's the most likely top get at the deadline.

If the Canes don't sign Teuvo in the summer (Which I sort of assume they wont) and trade Necas in this example, (thus not resigning him either) you're just about covering the price for Jake's new contract.

Also as I mentioned, division tax... it exists.
