I want to throw a theory out here. Penguins management is the problem. Not Kyle Dubas or even Ron Hextall. Ron was good until FSG took over. They bought the team expecting to win tons of games. Every move since then has been a misguided attempt to get better, and it seems like it’s being made by people who know nothing about hockey. What the Penguins need is for management to chill out and let Kyle Dubas work his magic. Remember the 2021-22 Penguins with tons of great scoring and the top PK in the league. The dates match up completely when FSG took over and Rob Hextall started sucking. So Kyle Dubas came in, and his entire thing is he wants to control a team. But the problem is that management is controlling the team, and he doesn’t like that. So he goes for Erik Karlsson like they want him to, and he knows it won’t work. Then, when it doesn’t, they can go to him and let him work his magic. The only problem is they might fire him, but I hope they don’t.
This is very high hopes but I do think Kyle has a plan for Karlsson so.
