Rangers can't afford to keep Lindholm so I don't really see them paying premium. What they need is a steady 3C and RW depth

If they can get Lindholm with only picks, that would be great but unlikely. I’d rather keep the younger Kakko than Atkinson

Probably not possible without giving up all the good picks for lindholm. (and NYR have some great wing prospects to replace Kakko). And while they cant afford to resign Lindholm, kakko is a bigger RFA, suffering through another meh year. And Chytil will be back. While it seems like a premium, NYR 1st is probably end of the 1st round, and Kakko is still a ?

Kakko is young, hes a 2.1mil expiring RFA who is having a pretty bad year and not sure which way he'll go from here. Atkinson while older is a pretty even bet for speed, leadership and 40+ pts, and at 50%, probably cheaper than Kakko next season, (when they bring up othmann)

This gives 3 great forward lines and a deep/solid defense and doesn;t touch the higher prospects and maintains good picks for the next 3 yrs.

Well Kakko is a RW and all their wingers except Perreault are LW. So unless cuylle or othmann switch over, I can’t see them replacing Kakko in-house

Yea I know Kakko has been underwhelming, but his possession and defensive game are too good to let go this early in his career. He might be forced to accept his QO of $2.4m, and could benefit another year of development under Lavi and this new staff. It has worked wonders for Laffy this year
