Swapping RyJo for Kuz feels like moving deck chairs on the titanic, I like Wahlstrom has kind of a Burky feel given a chance with some good linemates.

Rather just keep Kuzy if I’m taking more cap and only getting a 3rd.

Avs decline both I think.

It saves 1M in cap for Washington. Personally I think it's an overpayment from Colorado, but I think Kuzy has a better chance to bounce back in Colorado than Johansen.

It's a gamble that Kuzy will regain some motivation if he finally gets his wish and gets out of Washington. He had a decent year last season. I think he's a better fit than Johansen too.

If the cost isn't crazy, I'd make the swap and see if it works. If not, the team is in pretty much the same position as before, so it's not like it's a move that could sink their chances.

And yeah, I think Wahlstrom could flourish in a new spot. Doubt he'll ever be like a point per game offensive force, but adding some secondary scoring in the middle six isn't out of the question.
