If you believe the following, a trade of this magnitude doesn’t make sense
1. Lindholm or an equivalent player will be available in free agency
2. Boston will be an attractive option for a free agent with their cap room available
3. Lindholm isn’t the last piece of the puzzle to win a championship.
For me, this is a reset year and I believe that with Lindholm’a current play, he’s more likely to be a rental acquisition vs not (making free agency a strong possibility)
I’m not minimizing Lindholm. Him or Hanifin are among my top choices. If he’s available for Lysell, a #2, and DeBrusk … great. For this price, I pass. My assumption is that Calgary can get better than Lysell, a #2, and DeBrusk (while retaining a retention slot)
