Who represents San Jose at all-star game this year?
(Please say Zetterlund)
Stutzle. lol jk.
My gut says Hertl because well its Hertl - he's got the face value and the NHL likely leans towards him almost regardless of facts.
My votes - so far (obv subject to change):
1st Ballot - Blackwood (and it is not close)
2nd Ballot - Eklund (but point production will be his downfall but he isnt actually a point producing star like Beniers, he's more 200ft / two way, and still trying to develop his skill with the puck into points)
3rd Ballot - Hertl (and potentially beats outs the two above quite easily)
4th Ballot - Zetterlund (Quinn finally gave him a chance after hard work last year and to start this year and hes been awesome, I don't see any reason he shouldnt be RW1 to end the year)
It's Blackwoods to lose.
I'd say out of the other three Zetterlund and Eklund can make up more ground but Hertl would always be ahead by NHL standards unless hes hurt.
The 4 of them (Eklund, Hertl, Zetterlund, Blackwood) have been the best Sharks players and it's not even a contest. The team's -202 combined +/- rating would be so much worse without them.
Eklund was stuck with Kunin and Kunin missed almost 20 chances created when Quinn had them glued together. The switch of Eklund Zetter -> Hertl was night and day and if they were a line starting game 1 (not game 11 or 12 when they finally started being deployed), I'd bet Zetterlund would be near double digits in goals.
