Leafs decline. The value may be fair, but our defensive prospect pool is limited. Niemela is our best dman prospect. He is a solid puck moving, RD. I would rather keep the prospect than get the pick. I would only trade him if we got a 1st or if he were involved in a trade for a proper RD upgrade.

I would be happy to take Sandin back off your hands for Niemela though :P.

imo Leafs need a 2nd round pick to get "big z" and this would be the most effective way to get him

Having a 2nd round pick would definitely make things easier to get Zadorov. But they have other assets to make a Zadorov trade work.

I wouldn't love giving up Niemela for a pending UFA, bottom pair dman. If Niemela is involved, I would want it to be in a package for a guy like Hanifin.

I’d be happy to add Lindholm but not at the cost of a first round pick. I’d rather do a good prospect and a couple seconds.

Or we just trade niemela in the big z trade problem solved
