Detroit passes, That almost 3 equivalent 1st round picks for Trevor Zegras, Sorry he's not worth that much.

Plausible, if Verbeek loved Kasper. Or if Yzerman had dirt on him. Or both.

I'm going with Busted! Until Feb. 3, 2022 Verbeek had spent his entire front office career under Yzerman. Now Anaheim has over 3x the cap space Detroit has. So if Verbeek is unwilling to give Zegras what he wants I can't see Yzerman giving in. When it comes to signing players Yzerman is pretty f****** shrewd. I don't know if this would be enough for Anaheim but as @MoSeider53 said "Almost the equivalent of 3 1st round picks!" Is too much for me as well. I'm not saying Zegras isn't worth it but it is more than Detroit can afford.
