I would be all over that. Pinto is going to an excellent 2-way center (Danault caliber) but the need in Ottawa is more on the Wing than Center

Stutzle and Norris is the 1-2 punch but the options behind are growing... Jarventie has looked great since moving to Center and is having an impressive camp. Greig is a natural center and will be even better than Pinto IMO. Ostapchuk is also a Center... In the meantime, Giroux can play Center to give the young guys time to grow

Lafreniere is not going to be a superstar but a solid player as well

I wouldn't mind adding a guy like Sokolov too

The trade still leaves Ottawa non cap complaint

Seems like they'll have to settle for futures in a Pinto trade then. Doesn't seem like they can find a cheaper player than this situation or might have to flip Brannstrom, Joseph, Kubalik to make it work with Pinto.

Unfortunate situation because no matter how you slice it, the team this year is worse off when they’re supposed to be making a playoff push. Futures would be a tough pill to swallow, my money is on one of those three that you mentioned being shown the door.
