I doubt Trouba is going anywhere. 2 year bridge for Schneider which leads to the end of Trouba’s contract

Schneider isn’t ready for 2nd pair role. He’s young and needs to keep growing

Problem is his contract. Plus this gives Schneider another year of development before the jump.

He's not that bad look at his recent d partners. He needs more time and bot so sheltered to progress. Also either trouba or krieder are gone next season and kreider has been there for like 10 years

Schneider gets burnt easily. It has nothing to do with his partner. I’ve seen Schneider do rookie mistakes for 2 years now. Defensemen take a long time to hit their prime so there’s no need to rush him. Plus Trouba is a mentor and guys like KAM love him
