Olofsszn

There’s a few issues with this trade,
and the value is just one of them

A big issue with us even trading Olofsson is that Quinn is gonna be out for a while & we need his goal scoring in our top9
We can’t afford to lose his 25+ goals as well

Also, u guys have taken a big hit with the likely losses of Bergeron & Krejci
I’m not saying we are ready to catch u guys, & take your place in the playoffs- but I’m sure that’ll be our goal, so the last thing we are gonna want to do is help u guys out

And now, back to the value
A 3rd & 4th doesn’t help us make the playoffs this year,
they just aren’t of much worth at all to us
Our system is stacked with prospects, & we’ve already made more draft picks over the last few years than we will have room to sign
The only Olofsson trade that would make sense for us is if we got back a useful roster player that fills a role for us THIS season

Not only is a 3rd & 4th not helpful to what we are trying to achieve this season,
it’s light for a 25+ goal scorer


I know there’s Sabres fans on here who trash Olofsson bc he “doesn’t play defense” BUT we are actually pretty unlikely to trade him

Considering the injury to Quinn his spot on the Sabres roster is probably safe until the holiday roster freeze. That is unless one of the kids comes to camp and plays so well he forces his way into the lineup. Not to mention if Buffalo considers trading him it won’t be to Boston.
