Annual point predictions where I way overestimate some players and way underestimate some players. Looking forward to seeing how wrong I was at the end of the season
All point projections are based off an 82 game pace
Kuz low
Mikhi high (too many goals and assists)
Blueger high
Garland slightly high (too many assists)
4th line high
Season projection based on this roster?
I'll go 34-37-11 (OT loss/SO loss) for 79 pts
I expect Kuz shooting % to go down a bit
Mikheyev scored at a 25 goal, 50 point pace with a torn ACL. I don’t think this point prediction is high at all
This is all an 82 game pace projection so likely they don’t hit those actual totals
Do you really expect the Canucks to be that much worse this season? Why? The Canucks finished last season with a winning record. Why do you have them as a lottery team this season?

Kuz's ice awareness was 2nd to none last season. I expect an improved game with more playmaking this season. I see more assists than last year and ppg closer to your JT stats projection. No doubt the shooting % was astronomical last year and probably drop but I see a more rounded game coming.
I don't suddenly see Mikheyev pushing near 30 goal pace and he's not a playmaker. It's slightly high to me. His points will have to come 5v5 or shorthanded so that hurts his production opportunity.
My biggest concerns about the team remain ongoing carousel of players and staff. Tocchet doesn't strike me as someone who will transform this team to take a major step forward. His style will also have to modernize to become a better coach as well. Ultimately, the forward group is largely the same and unless someone like Aman or Raty take a big step forward to fill out a top 9, they've got the same, big hole down the middle as last year.
I'm very happy with the Soucy signing. I'm unsure about Cole and where he fits. I'm very uncertain who will play with Hughes.
One thing I suppose could change a lot is a healthy Demko. Obviously the goaltending was a huge issue last year.
So maybe I'm not looking at it glass half full given Demko and an improved D could change things. I just don't know if Myers or Cole fall off a cliff like OEL at this point given their age. I'd hope not but there's a chance and then it comes down to Demko to get a few wins.
I worry the team might be a bit tired too. Tocchet will hammer the top guys with heavy minutes every night. That type of wear might be a challenge for those guys. Again, the continued change over the past few years is probably pretty tough on the players and the pressure to win will only become greater.
I like the optimism...but I think your being a bit optimistic here. You project every player on the Canucks other than Kuzmenko to more points next season than they did last.. with the very large majority having career years.
