I'm not sure what's crazier - (1) comparing Kostin based on insane shooting luck or (2) expecting the Flames to trade Toffoli to Edmonton.

Either way, Edmonton couldn't afford the deals. Kostin isn't worth a $2.5M x 2 cap hit and the Oilers were moving Yamamoto for cap space and couldn't have taken on Toffoli's $4M AAV anyway.

And the "scooping Devils" part refers to signing McLeod and Bastian.

Yamamoto, Kulak, 23 2nd, 24 1st, 25 3rd probably gets Toffoli with some retention. Broberg gets his ice time, and the $ works.

But, I think Kostin is worth 2.5 x 2, so nana a boo boo lmao jk. Could've been $2,183,333 x 1 with a Yams buyout too apparently according to reports.
