this does not intrigue COL in the slightest, and here are the reasons:

1. It's a large overpay for a player the capitals seem somewhat desperate to move. Kuzy today is not Kuzy in 2020, his stock has dropped.
2. Avs cannot afford Kuzy without retention, and there are cheaper 2Cs with about the same production that don't require the Avs to pay for that retention.
3. I'm not sure the Avs are interested in dealing with any more off the ice issues this year.
4. The Center trade market is growing with the Calgary news. Avs only move Newhook for a decently young center they could or would want to extend.

Would love a Marty-Hanifin swap, I think the Caps have to give up a couple middle picks to get it done.

I'm with qc14, not really interested in Newhook. All for moving Kuzy, but would rather it set up another deal or signing.
