Cheveldayoff sends Dubois where he wants to go.

Cheveldayoff sends Hellebuyck where all Jets fans want HIM to go. Los Angeles' cap situation requires retention if Winnipeg is to recover anything reasonable from having to move Hellebuyck, but the Jets get two future firsts for the late 2023 first while swapping forward prospects who need a change of scenery. Winnipeg gets a young quality RhD and PP QB2 for defense prospect Dylan Samberg, who doesn't have clear path with Winnipeg's LhD depth.

Boston is under severe cap pressure, so the Bruins trade one of their two excellent goalies for three good prospects. Lucius can be spared after the acquisition of Beck in the Dubois trade, and Lundmark can be spared with Elias Salomonsson already in the system.*

This leaves the Jets with the following quality prospects: Daniel Torgersson at LW, Beck at center (among several others), Brad Lambert and Nikita Chibrikov at RW, Ville Heinola at LhD, the aforementioned Salomonsson at RhD, and Dobes and Arvid Holm at G. In addition, Winnipeg has last year's first-round pick (Rutger McGroarty) and this year's 18th overall selection in their prospect pool.

Now if only Cheveldayoff can find a useful return for Mark Scheifele or Blake Wheeler . . .

* In many Boston ACGMs I've seen recently, the Bruins fans trade Ullmark to Los Angeles in return for the Kings' 2024 first and a quality prospect. Since the Jets now own that pick, that's an appealing alternative.
