Look at Dubas’ trade history. How many did he win? He traded 6. 1st round picks in 5 years with the Leafs. He was gifted a team with Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Reilly, Tavares and Kadri, Hyman And Anderson. He squandered Kadri, Hyman and Anderson. He added nothing to the core in 5 years. He traded almost an entire draft for Nick Foligno, Ritich, Hutton, and Nash, and all he got for it was 1 point in 4 games from Foligno. A guy who played 4th line center in game 7. Looking back at Dubas’ moes it’s easy to see how bad he really was. He signed some of the worst contracts in history and made some of the worst trades. He wanted to trade the Matthew Kines pick before he even picked — his scouts had to save him. He wanted to trade Knies to Chicago but was vetoed by Shanahan.

Expect Dumbas to use your first to trade down and get rid of Carter and Granlund. Then he’ll trade another at the deadline for 2 months of a 3rd line center. He uses picks like candy to make up for all his deficiencies. So yeah, you better enjoy all those cups, because there won’t be another coming for a long time.
