Description

I want a coach with the balls to play 11 and 7. I know boomer coaches hate to do it, but we've got the team to do it.

Weve got a ton of young talent, and we should be maximizing the ice time for 7 of these 11 forwards.

Lean on the fact that you've got a young, mobile, and burgeoning defensive core, play a more positionless hockey.

If anyone gets bent out of shape over this, its easily avoidable. Trade depth prospects for draft capital, use draft capital to dump Joseph and grab the best UFA goalie for sub 3.5M

I like 11 , 7 but more in the last ‘q’ of the season. I am onboard with most of what you described except for DeBrincat, I really don’t think he wants to be in Ottawa long term. Move him and get middle 6 help and a couple of picks , prospects. They need the ownership decision soon otherwise their hands may be tied trying to move him before the draft.
What screwed the Senators last year was Norris getting hurt and ADB not playing with a solid #2 center , CSICK has been stating this for a while. Too many posters are worried about recouping value from last years trade, move on.
