Nylander to Carolina

I would say the gap between Pesce and Brodie makes up for the gap between Nylander and Teravainen. All players in this trade have 1 year left on their contracts, so there is no extra year value here.

Teravainen has a M-NTC, so the only way for this trade to go through is if Toronto is not on his list of 10 teams.

The idea her for Carolina would be to substract from their strong defence to add offence. I think for the most part, this trade is fair, but Canes fans let me know what you think. I would have no problem throwing in a young guy like Abruzesse or Robertson if the Leafs needed to add some incentive.

Both Nylander and Brodie also have a M-NTC, but I doubt Carolina would be on their 10 teams list.

The idea for Toronto is to boost defensive play which has not been great in the playoffs, while subtracting from their offence. Marner, Matthews, and Tavares all have a NMC, making Nylander the odd one out.
