Although Chicago isn't my first choice for Matthews, it's certainly a possibility. Maybe add a 9m UFA Nylander and good goalie....Hawks would be looking a lot better and still have cap space.

Its all a pipe dream, and I'm sure a lot more prospects will end up making it and some of these wont. I also think S. Jones will pair better with someone like Vlasic or Nolan rather than Korchinski. AM34 in Chicago would be wild. Loved watching Sam Lafferty play, but not sure I love him on the 3rd line making 3m. Gotta think one of the prospects coming up can fit into that gritty player with speed.

I'm sure we could fill the whole team with prospects but I was so far below the cap with all the ELCs and I also didn't want to sign too many long term pieces and get into a cap crunch in the late 2020s.

You're right about the goalie for sure. With this whole team basically being on ELCs and then having 3 big contracts for AM34, Reichel, and Jones and likely big contracts for Korchinski and Bedard, I think long term would put Hawks into a bit of cap trouble if there was an extra $9M for a guy like Nylander.
