Description
This is very out of character for me as I believe Toews is the most overrated player in the history of the NHL, but I do believe he's the ultimate piece to the Pens' puzzle.

The question is how much leverage does CHI have in moving a player who's picking his own destiny. So Hawks fans... this is a negotiation. I'm honestly not sure where this starts, so instead of flipping out, suggest alternatives.

Also realize, a 1st is not happening due to our wonderful GM's self-imposed rule.

What would you take out?

My rationale is paying extra to take Kap while retaining. They'll have to retain regardless.

yeah. Base cost for him is probably a 2nd. Kapanen as a cap dump would be either a 3rd or Poulin (not sure on Poulin's value right now). Smith and whichever other asset you decide to not include are unnecessary

I'm thinking Kapanen, 2nd, prospect. Kapanen isnt a cap dump imo. Hes inconsistent sure but in an 82 game schedule hed be headed for 40 points.
