Ottawa declines both trades or counters with Demelo and Samberg for a 2nd and Brannstrom... Not looking for more aging D and definitely not moving Greig for a LHD in which Ottawa has a surplus in already.

Schmidty's return would be an interesting thought, but I think he'd be a touch too expensive for Washington this offseason. i don't mind him as a buy-low option but he'd probably end up being too expensive for Washington to keep past this year. Either way, would have to take Gustafsson out as he wouldn't have any chance succeed in Washington with their current lines. I wouldn't mind AJF as a scratch in DC though if Winnipeg was willing to send him back...
