Lou is still trying to sign Kadri.

My sources tell me that he has finally moved off the idea of Kadri and has started heavily pursuing Kovalchuk to sign a long term deal.

This next one is a 34 year deal.

I do agree this team is not good enough. I love their goaltending and their Dcorp. I think they are masterfully constructed. I really dislike how their forward group is set up though. I think it is terribly constructed.

I think they are missing at least 1 super star upfront AND one star and they have way too many 5m+ contracts in players that shouldn't have them and it's causing them to not be able to afford the stars.

Mayfield should fetch a 1st at the deadline. Selling isn't a terrible idea in my mind.

If they can sell the guys you listed, trade for Meier and lose a bad contract in the process, I think they would be set up a lot nicer for the future. They can use the 1st they get for Mayfield at the deadline to acquire another good piece.
