and calling Balcers and Foote "good assets" is stretching it a little. Combined they're worth a 3rd rounder tops. Assume the 2nd for retention and the players for Johnson

Toews and Kane would have to be unwilling to move or there must be no interest in Athanasiou even at 50% and only one of the two willing to waive his NMC. I would guess Domi, Athanasiou and 1 of Toews or Kane would get retained or Kane, Toews, and Domi.

Maybe next year though.

So, TB gives up a 2 and takes a 6.7 mil LTIR contract to reacquire the guy for a 2 with other assets? This is rational thinking to you? We gave up 2-2's Foote and Balcers plus pay minimum 1.3 mil per year uninsured portion of Seabrook to get a year of Johnson at 2.5 that gets GM's FIRED!!!!

Is this even allowed? Trading a player, and then trading for them again with retention.
