The bottom six has not been dead offensively, it just sucks
Brassard is a depht forward at this point, Motte is a 4th liner, Joseph is an "ok" 3rd liner if he plays with 2 better players
Don't even want to talk about the 4th line outside of Kastelic. Kelly, Gambrell, Watson are all 13th forwards at best
That bottom-6 is probably the worst in the NHL
Dorion is the architect
Pinto is a rookie and just missed a whole season, you can't only give him AHL players.
It is what it is, season is lost anyway. Just wait for the team to get sold and they'll hopefully hire competent management who will hire a competent coaching staff.
Call up Crookshank, he's the guy who would have made the team last season if he didn't get injured, let him gain some NHL experience to get him ready for next season. He plays the right way and has very strong work ethic.
DeBrincat - Stutzle - Giroux
Tkachuk - Pinto - Batherson
Motte - Brassard - Joseph
Crookshank - Kastelic - Watson
Kelly/Gambrell
1st line is the line DJ should have gone with from the start. Instead he tried to force a square peg into a round hole and Norris got injured. Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson had great chemistry and worked 2-ways. Should have been the other top-6 line. For the bottom-6, it's way too late now, should have extended Nick Paul which would have allowed to keep Connor Brown and not trade for DeBrincat and Hamonic, and instead get the best RHD possible (Marino?)
Too late now
