Description
The convo of Avs and the 2C has been a constant one on this sit since the moment Kadri signed with the Flames

Avs fans have all agreed that they should add at the deadline but they dont have to go crazy overpaying for a rental 2C.

With how newhook Rodrigues and Kaut have shown chemistry together. That could be a potential 3rd line moving forward once the roster is healthy which puts into question what do you do with JT Compher, probably out the door.

Now the real question. Henrique seems available, I can see a fit with the Avs. But the only way to make it work they would have to retain. 1.8m seemed like a good number since his buyout is 1.9m aav.

Duck fans, what do you think is fair cost for Henrique retained for 1.8m? Starts with a 1st round pick? Curious on what your thoughts on, not fully understanding the Ducks cap situation next year with new deals for Terry, Zegras, and Drysdale, is there a major need to him on from Henriques cap hit?

Based on the chemistry of Newhook Rodrigues and Kaut line, and if avs add at the deadline for a 2C plus adding a depth Dman. Compher probably is moved out for Cap relief.

Do the ducks want him to flip in a Henrique trade? Someother team takes him in a depth Dman trade (Simliar to Jost for Sturm hockey move)

The only reason why I think that we could justify asking for a first is that you don't have any seconds or thirds this go-round or next. So, off the cuff, I think that Henrique with $1.94 retention plus our 2023 third for your 2023 or 2024 first is in the ballpark. (I think that you'd have to add a prospect if the pick is in 2024.)

If you're looking for depth Dmen, depending on what you want you could probably get both from Anahiem combined.

For Henrique, it's probably a first and a minor prospect or something for retention. Though if I were Anahiem I'd try and trade him in a hockey trade for some defensive stability that's under contract for next year. Wondering what a Henrique for Girard would look like as a baseline?

thats what I sort of think as well. A 2023 1st could be on the table bc of the retaining plus he does have an extra year, which is super manageable. I prefer just having 1 more year of term as it doesnt block anyone from moving up the depth chart long term.

I am not against the idea of moving a 2023 1st for Henrique, I think there is a deal to be made there

Kulikov would be my preferred option if they did one stop shopping with ethe Ducks.
Girard wouldnt be available for a Henrique trade type, hes too young with too much term on his contract. Henrique is in his early 30s with 1 year left.

I’d guess Rico with retention would be around a 2023 1st and a prospect or roster player

Colorado has always been my spot where he would fit best imo as well
