Description
Larkin will never be a legitimate #1 center even tho he is a very fine player. He is a very good hockey player and has a strong two way game but, I’m dreading his next contract at what is likely to be around or over $9m annually. I’m good on that.

I don’t see the Kings willing to move Clarke but I made the trade as attractive as I could by throwing in Hronek at 50% retained and took back Walker to shed more salary. If not the Kings & Clarke, I’d search the league for a similar deal.

Sundqvist will be in high demand at the deadline. Somebody will give us a 2nd for him or at the bare minimum a 3rd +.

Maatta has been exceptional thus far and is one of the sturdiest defenders in the league. There will certainly be a lot of interest at the deadline especially with his tiny salary. I believe we could easily acquire a late 1st assuming a bidding war ensues and most teams fighting for a cup push are tight against the cap without superior options.

Calgary moving Coronato is another wishful thinking deal to acquire Bertuzzi to bolster the Flames for a Cup push. He is exactly the type of player that can put that team over the edge and net a cup for them. If the Flames are as high on Coronato as I am, I doubt they move him but, that’s the kind of deal I’d be looking for in a Bertuzzi deal. He should have plenty of suitors considering the vax ban has been lifted as expected.

There will also be plenty of suitors for Nedjelkovic, Toronto seems likeliest. Ned would prefer to stay close to the area, even if it’s for just the rest of the season. I could also see him returning in the off-season. I can’t say the same for the others dealt.

I am also assuming Vrana misses the entire year considering his mysterious status and likely low value due to his absence; otherwise, I’d move him too.

Why would there be 'plenty of suitors' for Ned? He had a .900 last season, is running lower than that this season and is an upcoming UFA. What is there to value for teams?

Because he is a good goaltender on a mediocre team and was a good goalie on a bad team last year. The Ned behind that Hurricanes defense still exists in full form.

laugh Is this a joke? Why would LA give that up especially Clarke for a position they don't need? Centers are the very last thing the Kings need with 1C Anze Kopitar 2C Phillip Danault and 3C Quinton Byfield. Besides that's not nearly enough for Larkin and Hronek retained for 2 years That trade is a royal joke.

Oskar Sundqvist = 3rd round pick at best.

Olli Maatta+Detroit's 2023 5th round pick isn't returning no Edmonton 2023 1st round pick. FYI Detroit isn't dealing 2023 picks Yzerman already said that.

Coronato+A late 2023 1st round pick doesn't get Tyler Bertuzzi @ 50% retained and Tyutyayev not even in the ballpark.

Alex Nedeljkovic+Detroit's 2023 3rd round pick for a late Toronto 2023 1st round pick isn't happening, Once again Detroit isn't surrendering 2023 picks so not happening.

FYI you can only retain on 3 players, Detroit is already retaining on one spot Richard Panik.

Both Detroit and LA pass on trade #1
Dallas passes on trade #2
Edmonton pass on trade #3
Detroit passes on trade #4
Toronto passes on trade #5

You;re obviously not a Red Wings fan, So stick to your own team none of these trades are remotely going to happen.

Ned behind the Hurricanes defense is 2 seasons old now and the memory of it is gone. Now he's just been a bad goalie on a bad team for 2 seasons and even if he can turn it around, he doesn't have term for the team to see the upside of it. There's no value there for a team to take the massive risk.

Nah, I’m just not a wings slappy. Big wings fan tho. Know the difference.

Just by you repeating “Yzerman said he’s not trading 2023 picks” makes me think you have some sort of mental ailment. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

It’s especially weird to keep saying that when the deals have us acquiring better 2023 picks in return.

Yzerman would be dancing in the street if he was able to flip Larkin & Bertuzzi for Clarke & Coronato AND get two 1st round picks in return. Those are pipedream deals for Detroit and the fact that you think they don’t favor the Wings just shows how much of a homer you are or just your own ignorance.

In the case of the Kings being allegedly loaded at center; You can never have too many Centers. Byfield doesn’t even count in the equation, he’s equally shown flashes of brilliance as much as he’s shown signs of potentially being a bust. Neither of those outcomes can be determined up to this point but, his presence certainly wouldn’t negate a deal for acquiring a top line center.

Ned, Sundkvist & Maatta will all garner 2nd round picks if dealt.
