There is no way possible Lafreniere or Miller will want to sign for that little when they can both probably make at least $2M more annually.

They are 1-year deals, and neither player has arbitration rights, the cap is projected to go up to $87.5-$88M in 2024-25 and 92M in 2025-26. If they want to keep the gang together, they might work with the team.

The numbers you are talking about probably would be longer-term deals to lock up a few years. K-Andre has said some things leading one to believe that he would like to hold off to get a bigger payday down the line. Who do you suggest they get rid of to pay them?

I’ve been under the impression for awhile that both players are getting handy raises even when not being arbitration eligible. In addition I’ve all but accepted Filip Chytil and Ryan Lindgren leaving the team next season as much as I truly don’t want to believe it.

In a perfect world Laf and Miller sign team friendly bridges but it’s easier said than done. Take Jason Robertson for example. He’s still holding out for his second contract.

On holding out, there are plenty of examples going both ways, look at the KIngs with Anderson and Durzi. A lot will depend on performance this year, Chytil will be difficult to replace given the prospect pool and if Laffy performs like Robertson then a very good problem.

Well, I would think Laffy and Miller are much more valuable than those guys. Heck, Kakko got more than Anderson/Durzi. I’d have thought it’s a safe assumption Kakko won’t make more than Laf/Miller.
