Description
Bergy and Krech retire. Studnicka earns a full time role during the season that makes Craig Smith the odd man out, Bs move him at the deadline. Mike Reilly moved around Christmas time 2022 when Marchy and McAvoy come back for cap purposes.

Pastrnak decides to walk in FA and Hall asks to be moved to a contender. He is traded at the 2023 Draft to Ottawa.

Youth Movement takes over Boston and they suck in 2023-24, obviously. Donato was the lone major FA signing to cheaply and (probably) poorly fill 2LW to be flipped at the deadline. Bruins enter stacked 2023 draft with 2 firsts and 9 picks outside of first round.

Craig Smith. Seattle was a bubble playoff team looking to make depth moves to bring them to the playoffs. Smith was available and made sense cap wise for both sides. Made at the 2022 deadline.

If the Bruins Front office is seriously considering going full on rebuild, they have to trade pasta at the deadline. That's gonna be a massive haul for a guy, who you think is gonna walk anyway.

Is it more valuable to try and chase one more ring with a competitive team in 2022-23, or move him and get a huge haul and throw the idea of one last ride away? That'll be something to watch this year. Also, a sign-and-trade could be possible, as it was what many thought was going to happen with DeBrusk this past deadline. Trade Pasta at opening of Free Agency or the Draft for a huge haul. Just out of curiosity, if Pasta was extended to a 11.5 x 7 contract, what would you hope the Devils would offer to get him?

Ottawa's top 6 is pretty full right now. Ottawa's need is at RD. Carlo would be more of interest. I'd say a 1st round pick is a little rich for him. What would you be looking for in order to trade Carlo to Ottawa?

Carlo is poised to be a leader for Boston after Marchy Bergy and Krejci are gone. He’s more valuable to the team than his trade value would be I think. It’d probably be a first round pick, maybe with another mid asset (C prospect or lower round pick)

More than OTT would want to give up. After McAvoy, Carlo is our only legit RHD in the system. He's also the Bruins PK horse, so they'd need to fill the role of a Top 4 RHD that also plays premium PK minutes each year.
