I think Skjei is a better fit for Carolina than selling him for rental and a overpaid 3rd pairing guy. Why not just keep Skjei, remove Scandella and offer futures for a slightly retained Vlad?

Even your futures for Tarasenko wouldn't be a deal Carolina would do because the futures that would be wanted are likely Necas and more. Tarasenko just had his big bounce back year and was the player everyone thought he would be, his next contract will be a scary one for any team but the price to get away from St Louis would be massive.

Skjei in his best year wasn't worth Tarasenko alone even under contract. Blues don't accept this and laugh
