Don't fix what isn't broken on the 1st line.
Reports say pens are further away on Malkin than Letang so I believe pens re-sign Letang and let Geno walk. They sign Trochek to replace him and re-sign Rakell and Heinen to make a solid 2nd line.
Carter wasn't bad to start the season and picked it up for the playoffs a bit. I think he would benefit more from having players that excel at carrying the puck into the zone and shoot while he creates a center lane drive and is the big body in front of the net deflecting pucks. That's where Zucker and Nylander come in respectfully.
fourth line are fast energy guys that don't mind throwing the body.
First d pair is abiding by the rule 'don't fix what isn't broken'
Matheson is best when given a very defensive minded d partner so why not give him one of the best.
poj did best when paired with Marino. Also gives him a solid defensive d so that he can have confidence to do his thing in the offensive zone.
fleury is a great backup that is also insurance.
gmrh has said guys like Zohorna, oconnor, bjorkqvist, nylander, poj, puustinen, hallinder, and poulin could have a real good chance at making the roster out of camp. I'd bet the players that would be subject to waivers have the best shot and the others are injury call ups
