Description

Assuming Gaudreau gets an offer for $10M AAV from another club, the Flames could look at going this direction.

Either way, JT Miller would be a perfect addition to this team with the Sutter system in order to take the next step. Would need to pay a premium, but it’d be well worth it long term. Can’t think of a better center to target right now.

Detroit passes, You're not getting rid of Sean Monahan without at least attaching a 3rd round pick to him. He's coming back from double hip surgeries in consecutive years his value isn't that high right now.

And you're not getting Filip Forsberg any cheaper than the Matthew Tkachuk deal Forsberg will cost at least $9,500,000 x 7 years on the open market. He wants more than $8,000,000 per to remain in Nashville he's not taking less from Calgary.

Not a lot more, but definitely more.

This offer is the equivalent of: 1st + 1st (Zary) + 2nd (Dube) + 2nd (Valimaki) + 2nd

VAN gets 2 young players for the active roster, plus Connor Zary. A very young package, plus 2 extra picks. And for a guy who only has 1 year term left. I think it would be subject to Miller signing an extension with CGY, but this is a great package for where VAN is currently in their build for a playoff team.
