Dylan Larkin at trade deadline

Pass on Reaves - don't need a pylon who can't skate, shoot or pass regardless of whether he's a big tough guy. Kept hearing how valuable he is to the rangers so surprised to see him in so many trades.

Would be the ultimate captain move to leave at the deadline for a package of players and picks only to have an extension in place. Wings accept if that's the case.

This does nothing for Detroit. We've got some great D talent coming up the pipeline in the next 1-2 yrs, so Lundkvist and Robertson do nothing for us. Trivigno doesn't move the needle.

IMO, Larkin is about as untouchable as they come. Hometown kid, captain, and nearly PPG guy while still good at playing a 200' game. Yet you've offered not a single piece that makes Yzerman blink.

I'm not sure if this can be done (or has ever been done) but I wonder if Larkin and the Wings agreed on an extension during the season, could he be traded at the deadline still? Technically the extension does not go into effect until July 1, so would he still be considered a UFA in February? If that's the case, yeah the Wings should 100% do this. And the Rangers too.
