Description
To me the key to the offseason is finding a way to dump Zucker. Like the way he plays, but the constant injuries and play when healthy just hasn't lived up to what we need. There are a handful of really good guys they could sign that his salary is blocking. Obviously they want to move him, but it will be extremely difficult.

I see too many people moving him to Seattle or Arizona which just doesn't seem possible. It has to be a team that is good enough to pass his NTC list but also be willing to take on a bad contract for 1 year. With rumors of Boston's rebuild, I thought maybe they would fit? Islanders possibly?

Also, moved Malkin to Crosby's wing just for fun since his faceoffs have been so terrible. And I just have Forsberg on the 3rd line for some HBK line nostalgia.

We are going to resign Rakell. Ron wouldn’t throw away a 2nd round pick for a rental and then not resign them that would be a pretty bad move.

You're not wrong. I wasn't necessarily going for what I think will happen on this one though - because I don't even think we can get rid of Zucker to be honest.

If you want to fit Rakell in this team..........No Forsberg and drop Puustinen gives $10mil in cap space. Sign Rakell and should have enough left over for one of those mid/ high $5mil guys - Nichushkin, Burakovsky, Copp, Palat, Smith, etc. Malkin will most likely move back to 2C with Rakell on 1st line.

There’s no shot we land a Forsberg/Gaudreau. The 2nd option is what’s most likely.

Why sign Forsberg to 9 million to just play him on the third line?

i don't see the incentive to take on zucker's contract? Pettersson is a decent 4th dman but ive seen pitsburgh fans moving him for a 3rd just to clear cap. Alex nylander is a bust and is already 24 he holds no value really.

so basically boston is taking on over 9 mill while also moving a 4th for a 3rd?

B's paid a 2nd to move moores contract in the lindholm trade so zucker is gonna cost atleast a 2nd plus a decent prospect or 2 2nds.

I'd say make the trade
Reilly for Petterson+Zucker+23 2nd + POJ or Broz.

Reilly petterson swap is just that pitsburgh saves a mill and B's get a slighty better dman. Zucker+2nd+ 1 of the 2 prospects is the dump cost
